Sucre is the constitutional capital of Bolivia, capital of the department of Chuquisaca, and the sixth most populated city in Bolivia, located in the south-central part of the country. Sucre is located at an altitude of 2,810 meters (9,214 feet). This relative high elevation provides the city a cool temperate climate throughout the year and much thinner air.
